Post: Cuisine Chef Lecturer

Job Purpose: To carry out the professional duties associated with the delivery of training to learners who wish to acquire the skills and knowledge in the culinary arts

Essential Qualifications:
• To demonstrate a high level of cuisine theoretical and practical expertise.
• To have a minimum of ten years industry experience gained no longer than five years previously.
• To possess a high level of written and oral communication skills
• To demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a professional team which includes a diverse mix of people
• To demonstrate ability to solve problem as well as organise and prioritise work to meet identified time lines

Desirable requirements

• To have a Certificate of Trade such as a Certificate of Proficiency or a City and Guilds 706 1 and 2 or an equivalent recognised Certification or Diploma in Cookery.

• To possess teaching/education qualifications such as (PTLLS or CTLLS) or be progressing towards such formal qualifications

• To have lecturing or training experience and especially with the delivery of a cuisine program

• To demonstrate a broad perspective and depth of understanding of the culinary vocational needs based on current industry standards.


Pastoral Duties

• be a tutor to an assigned group of learners;
• promote the general progress and well-being of individual learners and of the learner group as a whole;
• contribute to the preparation of learners Action Plans and progress files and other reports;
• alert appropriate staff to problems experienced by learners and make recommendations as to how these may be resolved;

Other Professional Requirements

• have a working knowledge of teachers' professional duties and legal liabilities;
• operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school

Interview stages:

Stage 1: 1st interview
Stage 2: 1hour demonstration test
Stage 3: 4 hour practical test
Stage 4: Final Interview.

Salary: £37,500 (equivalent to ¤ 42,000)

Présentation de la société :

The school has 8 chef lecturers, 1 production chef and one senior technical chef lecturer.

Chef lecturers currently have practical classes of up to 10 students and hold demonstrations sessions for up to 60 students and take an annualised average of 12 sessions per week. The sessions currently consist of 4 three hours sessions Monday to Friday and 2 three hour sessions on Saturday. Holidays are set at 20 days plus bank holidays.

Chef lecturers may have the chance for international travel for field trips and keeping up to date with current industry trends.
Secondments in other countries are also possible.

The school is expanding on a world wide scale. We currently have 35 schools worldwide. The London school attracts students from all over the world. Our students are well educated and require knowledgeable chefs who have worked at high levels, in order to convey the best skills to these educated students.
